Not that you need to be convinced to make a trip to the beach, but you might not be aware of just how healthy for you it can be. Here’s how.
GET YOUR Vitamin D
You could be vitamin D deficient and not even know it because the deficiency can go symptomless. A little sunshine can be the answer. You don’t have to be out in the sun for very long before your skin produces and absorbs vitamin D, but that doesn’t mean you have to cut short your day at the beach. After you’ve grabbed some rays, just remember to apply sunblock, or lounge beneath an umbrella and continue to enjoy your day.
get some Exercise
If you need to get some exercise–perhaps a good walk–there might not be a better place than the beach. The beauty of the ocean, the sound of crashing waves, and even shelling can be perfect distractions while you enjoy a healthy walk.
get Relief from Arthritis
If salt baths can help relieve the pain of arthritis by causing a temporary decrease of inflammation in the body, according to experts, then why not let sea salts do the same job–with the added benefit of a little fun in the sun? Not only is the ocean a great source of salt, but it can also help take some the stress off of your joints by giving you a feeling of weightlessness, relieving more of your arthritic pain.
