Although mortgage interest rates have fallen to extraordinary lows you may not be quite ready to purchase a new home. In the meantime, until you’re ready to make a move, here are three small ways to make your house a little bit more loveable.
Sofa, So Good
Well, so far not so good—for your sofa, that is. The current pandemic has turned many couches across the nation into makeshift home offices and home-bases for evening and weekend TV binging. Now their cushions have become flattened and the upholstery looks the worse for wear. They’re crying out for help.
You can easily save your sad sofa and enhance the appearance of your entire room. If your seat cushions have zippers consider plumping them back up by adding more fiber fill. Clothe your couch in a new slip cover. Opt for one with a pattern to help hide future stains—because there will be more dribbles and spills, but at least you’ll be able to wash them away. Add a couple of new throw pillows to complete the makeover.
Rediscover Your Wall Art
Just like you can become nose blind to the scent of your favorite perfume or cologne after it’s applied to your skin, the same can happen with your wall art—it’s there, but after a while you stop really seeing it. To rediscover the art you own try moving it to different spaces in your home. You may even consider creating a gallery wall.
Add Oomph With an Accent Wall
You can liven-up a boring space in your house by creating an accent wall. It’s a relatively easy and instant change, which is probably why many remodeling experts agree that it will be the most popular painting style inside of homes for sale this year—so when you are ready to list your home you’ll be on trend.
The hardest part of the project will be picking a color. Opt for something cheery, if you so choose, or select a subtle pigment for a more relaxing atmosphere (and increased salability).
