When you list your home on the market, your real estate agent will give you all kinds of pointers and tips – but here are three tips to remember.
3 Things to Remember if You’re Selling Your Home on 30A
Selling a home is a big deal – so here’s what you need to remember to ensure it all goes smoothly:
- Leave for showings (and take your pets)
- Move your car out of the driveway
- Put out refreshments for your guests
#1. Leave for showings (and take your pets).
When a prospective buyer is coming to see your home, make like a tree! Buyers just can’t get comfortable exploring a house when the owner is right there – they feel like they’re spying rather than inspecting a possible investment.
And even if your pets are exceptionally well-behaved, take them with you when you leave. Some buyers are allergic, and others are afraid of animals – you don’t want to do anything that could jeopardize your chances of making the sale. (Don’t put your pets in the yard, either – your buyers will likely want to go out there to explore, too.)

#2. Move your car out of the driveway.
This one’s easy because you’re leaving, right? But if you have an extra vehicle, move it out of the garage or driveway and park it down the street. You want buyers to have a great view of the house from the curb, and you want them to be able to park in your driveway. First impressions really count!
#3. Put out refreshments for your guests.
The weather is heating up quickly, so leave a bowl of ice with a few bottles of cold water in it on a table near the door. You can also leave prepackaged treats, like mints and candies, in another bowl.
