It takes a village… so come help us do our part! We are taking our spring cleaning to the beach! Join us at 10:00am on Friday, March 18th at Ed Walline Park for a 30a Local Properties Beach Clean-Up!
South Walton is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, and we want to make sure they stay that way. Over time and due to human negligence, our beautiful sugar white sand becomes polluted with litter and trash. Do you know what the most common item found during most beach clean-ups is? Cigarette butts. Other common items that are left behind or that wash ashore are:
- Plastic Bags
- Bottles & Cans
- Fishing Gear
- Clothing
- Scraps of Lumber, Metal, Plastic, Syrofoam, Glass and Rubber
Keeping our beaches clean is not only an aesthetic concern, it is also a safety issue. The shoreline provides habitats and nesting areas for ocean wildlife, like sea turtles and seabirds. Trash on the shore can injure beachgoers, harm wildlife and drive away visitors.
Help us have an immediate positive impact on our community! Join us on Friday, March 18th for the 30a Local Properties Beach Clean-Up!
